Text: Isaiah 6:1-8
Isaiah 6:1–8 NIV
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Introduction: The Lord is in need of workers to till His field today, So kindly He has led me to walk in wisdom's way; I pray for grace to help me with all my heart to say, O blessed Savior, count on me. Everybody is searching for a hero, people need someone to look up to. Never finding anyone to fulfill my needs, what a lonely place to be. Truth be told most of our heroes are few and far in between. Batman, Superman, and Spiderman, just to name a few. However, when we watch the movies of these champions the excitement of their heroics captivate our attention. But as soon as the movie is over reality sets in and we are right back where we started from. Problems on every hand, struggling with issues and trying to keep our heads above the pitfalls that challenge our everyday living. Trying to accomplish the work of the kingdom cannot be done with human strength alone. We need the supernatural power of God if our working or laboring is not going to be in vain. So let's revisit Isaiah’s vision and unpack some essentials to help us be better servants of the Lord.

1. There is a change of heart (Isa. 6:1-4)

The first thing Isaiah saw is a need to worship the Lord. “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne;” God is the source of all that we are and all that we do. Worship reminds us that it is not about us.
The work of the Lord is paramount to every Christian believer or at least it should be. We live in a society that has not lived up to the claims that we make about our service to the Lord. If the truth would only embrace our hearts and minds, we can and would certainly see that all of the Christian community has a very long way to go. Are we really serious about our commitments to Christ, our families, our churches, and our communities.

2. There is state or time of preparation and conversion (Isa.6:5-7)

There is a need for a power packed personality with a prophetic word from a providential God who is able to make us prolifically productive. I am grateful to share with you today that the Bible shares with us a prescription for all that ails us. Isaiah realized he was subject to judgment. This was because he was unclean. When seen next to the purity of God’s holiness, the impurity of human sin is all the more evident. The prophet’s unclean lips probably symbolized his attitudes and actions as well as his words, for a person’s words reflect his thinking and relate to his actions. Often times we wrestle with the ideal that we are not equipped or fit for a task. God eliminated this course of thinking by the prophet by the symbolic action of the Angel placing hot coals from the altar and placing them on the lips of the prophet.

3. There is commitment to the Lord's work. Isa.6:8

Closure: As I hurry to a close, let me remind you that there must be a change of heart. There is a time of preparation and conversion. Finally, you must commit to the Lord's work but you cannot do it without Christ. Now gird me for the battle when evil powers oppose, and give me faith and courage to conquer over Thy foes, I pledge Thee my allegiance, my soul no other knows, O blessed Savior, count on me. Is there anybody here today that wants to go for the Lord. If you are here, the way was prepared before the foundation of the world, and in due time, God sent His only son, He was born of the virgin Mary, wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger, because there was no room in the inn.....................
